Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

I have had a fondness for Marie Frank since I discovered her quite by accident in a record store in Copenhagen, Denmark (my favorite foreign city on the planet). So I’ve been keeping up with her career for several years. It seems each album she puts out is shinier and prettier than the one before.

She is a perfect pop princess without being all sugary sweet like Hilary Duff (who I admit is adorable) or slutty like, well, most of the others. Marie Frank writes intelligent pop tunes that are so catchy I know after one listen you’ll be humming them to yourself.

“I Like It When You Sleep” is really a perfect pop song. It’s so addictive.

“Scrabble-Ina” was on her previous release, Swimmingly and it’s a great song about hidden messages in a seemingly innocent game of Scrabble.

” I See What You Say” is a really clever tune about what happens when our heroine accidentally swallows a glass of water with her partner’s contact lenses in it:

“Can’t believe I drank your contact lenses/
Now your outlook is inside of me”

“Spot On The Moon” is a lovely way to wind down this charmer of a record.

This is a first rate recording and everyone who likes pop music should get a copy.

This would have made it to my Best of 2005 list had I reviewed it in time. Must remember to add it to next year’s list!
