Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Portuguese band Aenima follow a successful CD with this EP. They play a spacious, mournful ethereal music. Singer Carmen has an evocative style.

“Forlorn” lives up to its title with dolorous guitars and Carmen”s yearning voice.

Echoes of the Cure are heard on “At the edge of the Cliff”. The mood of the song is sad but the guitars give it energy.

The poppier “The Light” is a nice example of the band letting some light into their songs. Carmen”s voice displays a slight resemblance to Lisa Gerrard here.

The closing “Rapture” is a lovely song and a good way to end a very impressive EP.
