Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds
I reviewed Amy Kuney’s [EP] back in 2006 and I adored it. So much so I referred her to an industry friend of mine who was looking for new artists for his label. It also made it to my best of the year list. So I was very happy to learn that Amy had a new full length record out.
For starters she has a unique voice. It’s got a great quality that I am having a hard time describing. Maybe a little smoky, little deep, soothing but perfectly poppy as well.
She is also a fantastic songwriter. Everything I’ve heard from her not only has infectious catchy melodies, but snappy, clever lyrics. Her music is very fun to sing along with.
Stand out songs (though this is hard because all of them have caught my ear at one point): Angel Tangled in the Telephone Lines, Thank You For Last Night, Love is Trippy should be on the radio NOW.
I can’t say enough good things about this record and this artist. If you like pop music without the sugar but all the class and intelligence, you will want to check out Amy Kuney.
