Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

I don’t normally do reviews of sampler EPs or anything that you as a music consumer can’t purchase, but think of this as a placeholder for the full-length CD, Wreck of the Day, which is due out in January. The reason I made an exception in this case, is this is a terrific selection of songs.

Anna Nalick has a great pop voice. It’s crystal clear, peppy, and sweet (but not sugary so).

The songwriting is sheer fun pop, but with enough minor chords and unexpected twists to keep things interesting.

I am not going to pick out “stand out songs” like I usually do, because really, all these (the ones starred are the ones on the sampler I have) are great. But “Breathe (2am) is the definite single.

It doesn’t hurt that she is cute as hell. I fully expect to see Anna Nalick winning awards and hearts; it’s just a matter of time.

Comment: I saw her in concert and liked her so much I bought her album. I respect the fact that she is not using her looks to sell the music. She is letting the music sell itself because it’s good. I think she has a bright future.
