I had long discussions with Ken Rockwood, owner of Rockwood Music Hall – where Ryan played as a solo act all last year – about this. Ken was convinced he’d win as the band were liking him more. But I think he was always the nearly man and wasn’t right for the band, and they knew it. He did a great job getting as far as he did, and I think they did really like him in the end. Ryan is one of the most driven (but nice) people I know, and I am sure he’ll use this time to further his career.
