Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds
No, not Dr. Dre, though I believe she gives a nod to this by opening the CD with the first track called Intrizzle and all it is, is someone saying, “Word.”
The guitar and voice meld beautifully together. The guitar is mostly strumming (rhythm) as opposed to finger playing…which I usually prefer but in this case, I’m afraid any more intricate music could cover her voice, which is lovely. It’s a very nice comfortable voice. She does do some picking on some songs. One is “Home” which is a strong contender for one of my favorites. Even without the picking, this is a beautiful song with lyrics to match:
I’m not afraid here
I don’t feel alone
You feel like home
While trying to come up with favorite songs I write one down, then when I hear the next one I say, “Oh, no wait, I like that one” then I repeat that after every song. Really, they’re all good.
This is a really peaceful recording. Dre makes it seem effortless (which I’m sure is not). This is true folk music. It’s the shiznit. Word.

Comment: Why is this woman and her band not headlining @ Madison Square Garden????? Awesome performers! Not only did I buy this CD for myself, but I have bought them for many of my friends! How could I not share this musical experience with people that I love?? I can’t wait until her next CD is released! We are true fans, and will attend every concert that we can!
