Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Rebecca Schoenecker leads this unusual Americana band. They play a twisted, gothic take on the genre.

“Going Home” is a subdued, haunting song. Schoenecker’s vocals take on a resemblance to PJ Harvey.

“I Fall” is a ghostly song with a stark, stripped-down backdrop.

“Desert Sky” sees the singer stretching her vocals to the bursting point. Daniel Fischer’s clarinet provides a calm counterpoint.

“All that remains” is a smoky song with a lot of tension.

“The Sacrifice” sees the band sounding like Morphine.

“Became Flesh” is a fabulous album.
