Album Name: Bend
Artist: Cara Aley
Year/Label: 2003 / Independent
Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds
First of all, what stands out is how she reminds me of Paula Cole. The voice and the music.
The songs are adult pop. Interesting melodies. Great vocals, rich sounds, good professional production.
I think these songs would fit nicely into a film. Especially “Wander & Wonder”. You know, the scene where the heroine is happily skip-walking down the street, stopping in stores, throwing her hat up (ok not the last part), but there is sort of a wholesome quality to them.
If you like Paula Cole, Jonatha Brooke and other grown up pop, check out Cara Aley.

Comment: Bend was one of my best purchases of 2003. Cara has a bright future. Figure It Out is about as good as it gets.
