Album Review: Bootleg by Lourds

Album Name: Bootleg
Artist: Lourds
Year/Label: 2003 / Independent

Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Lourds’ new album follows her debut’s high-octane rock with new strong songs. As ever she is a magnetic singer and a stunning violinist.

“Always” gives us a rockin’ sound and some great hooks. Lourds powerful voice dominates it.

“And She was” is a dynamic yet poppy song.

“Fall on Me” is a reflective ballad with a positive message.

“Paper Doll” sounds very radio-friendly and has an appealing urgency to it.

“I’m with You” is a tender song that shows Lourds talent clearly. Her violin suits the song just fine.

“Bootleg” is a great album that should make Lourds better known than she is.
