Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

I threw this album in my car one day and ended up listening to it all week. I am not even sure how to describe this style of music (I guess I could go read other reviews, but that would just influence me too much).

But after listening to the record the first time, later in the day I had the song ‘Zoot Suit Riot’ in my head. So I guess at least subconsciously, they remind me of the Cherry Poppin Daddies.

But I also wrote down (not while I was driving!) that they reminded me of the Squirrel Nut Zippers. More the lead singer’s voice rather than in style.

There are a bunch of really cool songs on here: Scatter the Ashes, Rumor Mill, but I think my favorite track is Death, She Comes. It’s just so interesting.

Dirgy, hot summer music. Enjoy! Even though it’s fall. Sorry ’bout that.
