Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Three young French musicians met and formed this group. Juliette Paquereau, Julien Permadeau and Rémy Galichet were their names. They cite Stina Nordenstam and Cat Power among their influences and it shows.

“Manderley” is very much a case in point. It’s a languid, very orchestrated song that features Juliette’s charming vocals at their best. Its sounds very French, despite the words being in English.

“October in May” is reminiscent of Suzanne Vega in its sad but beguiling way.

“Wasted Time” is a duet with Tahiti 80’s Xavier Boyer and his voice fits right next to Juliette’s.

This debut is utterly lovely and deserves to be heard by many.
