Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

This is Alice Bierhorst’s sixth album, but only the second one I’ve heard. Her sound is soft, but filled with tension. She’s not unlike Cat Power in style and quality.

“At Sunset” has a bluesy twang and a hushed vocal by Bierhorst.

“The Circle” is a tender song with a very moving lyric. “Wake up my darling Spring came while you dreamt of flying” sings Bierhorst.

“Sickle-Backed Mare” is a hypnotic, folksy song.

“Law of Averages” is marvelous.

“Peace on earth will be delayed again” she sings aptly.

“Eartbound” is a great album and a more distinctive work than “Oxygen”, which was good, but not this good.
