Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds
I’ve reviewed Marilyn Scott’s CDs before and I’ve always enjoyed her comfortable jazzy sound. Luckily this record is in the same vein.
These songs are well written, professionally played and since they all feature Scott’s lovely voice, they are all great.
I’m getting to know jazz music in my journeys here with this website, and while I’m still no aficionado, I have grown an appreciation for the genre and Marilyn Scott is a stand out to me.
Best tracks: Round & Round, The Wilderness, though Moods doesn’t seem to match what with the rapping and all. Maybe it’s scatting, but either way, it’s not my favorite track.
