Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

This CD has a nice jazzy feel. Comfortable strong vocals and talented professional sounding musicianship. It’s a very clean sound and her voice is a nice match for the music.

Opening Track “Little Hours” for some reason, takes me back to the early 80s. It doesn’t sound like an 80s song, I don’t know why it’s nostalgic to me unless there is a song that subconscious remembers from back then that I don’t. Maybe it’s the voice…no idea. But it’s a cool song.

I can’t really give you any helpful comparisons to other artists because I don’t know who Jen Chapin sounds like, but I will say her voice can sound sweet, sexy, jazzy, or smoky depending on the song.

The songwriting is solid as is the voice and musicianship. I don’t find the songs to be real stand out-hit songs, to my ears. But they are all pleasant enough and if you like this genre this is a good pick.
