Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

Melanie Joy makes her debut here with a focused and melodic effort. The singer and pianist has a remarkable skill for writing songs.

“Falling In” is a sensitive and moving song, Joy’s piano weighing in well. I’m reminded of Sarah McLachlan’s early work.

“Salesman Santicity” rests on Joy’s fragile but passionate vocal and the sweet melody.

“World’s Breaking Through Me” is a lovely ballad that explores sadness without succumbing to it. The strings are tastefully done as well.

An unexpected cover of Weezer’s “Say It Ain’t so” adds to the album’s appeal.

It’s definitely a kind of magic at work here.
