Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Brittany Shane’s music is gentle yet intense. It has a country-tinged feel to it. Tracks like the marvellous “I Think I Live/Die” show off her sweet voice to great effect.

On occasion she reminds me of Kristin Hersh.

“Perfect Day” is a Cowboy Junkies-style song that is very moving.

“Blue Lit Water” has some neat guitar playing and a lyric telling a sad tale.

“Moravian Star” is a stripped down, mainly acoustic record that proves you don’t need a mayor label to make a great album. Its charm and grace speak volumes.

Note: Brittany changed her name from Safranek to Shane so her cds are still listed as Brittany Safranek.
