Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

I put this CD on shuffle with a bunch of others I was reviewing and as sometimes happens, every time I heard something I liked and looked to see what it was, it was this record.

I don’t even really know how to describe the music…it does not fit squarely into any genre. It’s part rock, part folk, part pop…I guess I would call it light rock. But that’s not all that accurate either.

Let’s just say the record is filled with songs that are well-written, well performed and fun to listen to. Arnau’s voice is a great match for the material. It’s strong without being overbearing and she can be soft and pretty when she needs it to be.

Plus I like a song that includes the lyrics “Let’s get drunk and stupid”

Track 5 has some nice spots where she really plays with the rhythm and it’s unexpected and therefore great in my mind.

Track 9 reminds me of Heather Nova.

This is a really unique and interesting record. And I mean that in a good way.
