Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Young English folk singer Bella Hardy has just released her debut album. She mixes traditional songs with her own songs and the results are stunning.

Three Black Feathers is one of her own compositions and yet it sounds like an old song, wise and lovely.

Young Edmund sees Hardy taking a standard and making a sweet version of it, aided by her expert fiddle playing.

Heart Hill was written by Kristina Olson and it starts with just Hardy’s pure voice then it’s joined by instruments, and it retains its cool spell.

Hardy’s own Alone, Jane? written about Jane Austen is both moving and worthy of inclusion among the othergreat songs.

Bella Hardy is a bright new star on the folk firmament.
