Album Name: No Fear in Love
Artist: Tricia Greenwood
Year/Label: 2003 / Independent
Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds
I’ve been listening to piano for so long the fact that this is guitar driven is a bit of a shock to my system. But it’s also refreshing. I’ve missed it.
Tricia’s voice is deep and smooth. The recording is raw and simple in that it’s mostly just vocal and guitar. I almost feel like I’m sitting around a campfire listening to her. Until you get to track 11 which makes use of some wailing guitar.
The lyrics are speckled with “Lord”s, “God”s, “Almightly”s, etc to the point where it is distracting to me, but perhaps that’s just me. Someone else might not mind it. Reading her liner notes makes it obvious that she is a very religious person so it fits that that portion of her life have a part of her creation.
“Frozen Time” is a new age-y instrumental.
Stand out songs: “No Fear in Love” and “Real Love Never Dies”.
