Album Review: Opener EP by 8MM

Review by Sarah Bernardi

Renowned producer Sean Beavan and wife Juliette are making sexy, seductive music together. So sexy in fact, that the follow-up to this six track EP is most likely one of the most highly anticipated releases in this genre.

Reminiscent of Shirley Manson, Aimee Mann, and Portishead, vocalist Juliette seems to transcend all comparisons with her lilting, yet intense voice. The introspective musical arrangements could only be the work of Sean Beavan, (Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails).

Every track is an epic story unto itself, each heightening in intensity and emotion, with my personal favorite being “Give it Up.” 8MM do an excellent job of creating a darker world with longing soundscapes and heavenly vocals. Check out for a taste of what is to come.
