Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

New Yorker Aimee Van Dyne’s debut CD is a very strong one.

“Not Even You” has some nice harmonies along with a very catchy and interesting melody. Her lyrics are fabulous as well:

“For the first time in my life
I’m not looking for love
I’m content with the ground at my feet
And the sky up above
For the first time in my life
I swear that it’s true
I believe I don’t need anything
Not even you.”

Title track, “Owing Up” has beautiful guitar picking and background vocals. This is reminiscent of Dar Williams’ style (not voice).

If you enjoy well-written pop/folk you deserve to check out Aimee Van Dyne.
