Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Nicola Hitchcock sang in trip hoppers Mandalay who made some fine music. Her solo record is not so far from Mandalay’s sound and she’s in fine voice.

Opener “You will feel like this” is exquisitely made, soft beats supporting the vocal.

“Moving into a New Space” is a song that puts the singers lovely voice to good use.

Her words of starting anew are interesting. “I Forgive me” is a dancey track with a strong beat. “Surrender” sees Hector Zazou joining Hitchcock creating a strong atmosphere for her to emote against. “Morning” has Ryuichi Sakamoto playing piano in his distinctive, longing fashion and the song is cinematic and lush. It makes a great finale for the album. Hitchcock has made a strong comeback.
