Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

When I saw that there were only 5 songs I said to myself, ‘oh sure, I bet I’ll love this one’. Not that I prefer short CDs, I don’t, but it seems that the really great CDs I’ve gotten lately have been EPs and this is no exception.

Lisa Alice has a sweet voice, sounding innocent without being childlike. Almost like a mellower Ani DiFranco.

The songwriting is great. The melodies are interesting, comforting and will stick with you. The rhythms are intricate (especially on “New”).

The guitar playing is skillful but not show off-y. Simple sounding, raw, emotional guitar.

Great EP, yet again, it’s just not long enough. I hope to hear more from Lisa Alice in the near future.

Stand out song: “Parisianfransisco” (and not just because I love both those cities either)
