Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Awry is fronted by Shara Worden. Their sound on this CD is stripped down but hardly lacking in anything.

Instead there’s more space for Shara Worden’s amazing voice to movie in. She is equipped with a fabulous vocal gift, evoking Liz Fraser and Jeff Buckley at various points.

“Inconsistant” creates a dreamlike mood, but is also a bit sinister.

“Sick Friend” is like a less spacey Cocteau Twins, with plenty of atmosphere to it.

“Youkali” was written by Kurt Weill and Roger Fernay. Awry’s version does the song justice, and it.s fun to hear Shara sing in French.

This record is a lovely thing and is a perfect listen if you need to unwind.
