Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

I’ve written about Hungarian Band Moon and the Nightspirit before.

Their new album finds Agnes Toth and Mihaly Szabo performing their music in their native language.

The title song sounds impressively eerie, Toth’s sweet voice set against a frantic backing. The title means “I conjure with magic” and it sounds just as bewitching as that implies. This time the group have delved deeper into their folk heritage and to an outsider it sounds astonishing.

“Grokhe” sounds plaintive and sweet, Toth’s singing at its finest.

The duo manages a unique, often enthralling sound and their new album should please many.
