Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds
This CD starts with some creepy chanting thing happening. Then comes the drums…bang!
Maybe it’s just because I haven’t heard this type of music in a long time, but this took me by surprise. With titles such as “Devil’s Paradise”, “Deadly”, and “Inside the Cell”, I would categorize this as punk or Goth. It’s creepy, loud, driving, and beautiful all at the same time.
Singer Jacqueline van Bierk has a gorgeous growly voice that can also shout and soar with the music. It’s a great fit.
If you like your rock hard, sinister, energetic and loud give Otto’s Daughter a spin.
