Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Sheera Ben-David has chosen to interpret the songs of Jaques Brel in English and does so beautifully on this album. Her brother Adam plays piano as accompaniment.

“Goodbye my Friends” is beautifully rendered, Ben-David in lovely voice and her brother working the keys well.

“Amsterdam” is rendered quietly and with dignity, the singe at the top of her game.

“Aone” is strident and emotional, her lovely voice at its peak.

Scott Walker once sang “Sons Of…”, and gets a soft reading here.

Ben-David’s done Brel justice and that’s no mean feat. This album’s too short.
