Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds
I just love Jodi Shaw’s music. Ever since I first popped in her CD, “Pie Love Sky” I have just been in love with her sound. The voice, the songs, the production, everything.
This album is another great one.
She has a sweet voice (sweet, without being syrupy girly) and a knack for writing a beautiful pop song. Her songs have been called lullabies and I guess I can see why. They won’t put you to sleep but they sure are soothing and comfortable.
She tells some great stories too. I so admire someone who can come up with such intelligent and entertaining lyrics.
I’ve always compared her to Suzanne Vega and that is certainly still true. However, I’m starting to feel that she’s also channeling Simon & Garfunkel at times. She’s a master and lovely little poppy-folks songs and can count me as a huge fan.
I can’t select favorites I love them all.
