Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds
Just looking at the cd cover I was pretty sure I’d dig this. It’s piano based, which is always a good thing to my ears. But there’s so much more too. These songs are multi-layered and well composed.
Sarah Perotta has a lovely voice. Her high notes make me feel peaceful. Especially evident on The Storm.
I have had this in my iPod for at least a month now, and I like these songs more as time goes on. They were great at first also, but I hear something new and lovely with each listen.
Into Bloom is almost poppy and has a wonderful piano line.
She makes great use of the minor notes and sort of discord (dis-chord?) that makes the listener really pay attention and perhaps even feel a tad uneasy. In a good way.
Even though it is time to remove this from my iPod and add new cds to review, I am having a hard time doing so.
