Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds
I’ve reviewed Katie Sawicki’s music before and have always enjoyed it. I’ve consistently been impressed with her knack for writing good lyrics. After re-reading my reviews I see that I have liked each of her releases better than the last. I’d say that trend follows here too.
Her voice has a wonderful homey folky quality that is a perfect blend for the music.
Tuesday is kind of rock-ish and is a good way to start the record.
Hanging On kind of breaks my heart:
“I will be the first to bow out of this it you tell me now it’s over.
Cause I couldn’t tell last night”
The songs are well written with interesting melodies and again, fantastic lyrics. This is a great folk record.
