Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

I reviewed Lovewhip’s previous CD, Boucehall in 2003. At that time I considered them “keg-rock”, but I think they’ve changed.

This CD is much more electric, or electronic. It’s still dancy, party music, for sure. But seems more mature. I guess that’s to be expected after two years and two more CDs under their belts.

I’d say they’ve graduated from dorm rooms to dance clubs.

The music is not terribly intricate, but it’s not supposed to be. It’s repetitive, but that makes it easy to dance to.

Erin Harp’s vocals are often a little distorted, as is usual in this genre, but she sounds great to me.

Title track “Virtual Booty Machine”, really makes the listener want to move. It’s a fun tune and there are three more remixes of it here. My favorite one would be “Rebooty” (the Mark E. Moon mix)

But I think any of these songs will make you get up and dance.
