Diana Stabel’s debut is a nice entry in the jazz genre. She has selected a nice assortment of songs and her band play well. Her vocal is strong on “The Lamp is Low” and the band play softly but persuasively.

She renders Bob Dylan’s “You’re gonna make me lonesome when you go” beautifully. Stabel really gets to the heart of the song.

We also get another “My Funny Valentine” that’s neat and a “Like Someone in Love” done more traditionally than Björk did it.

Stable’s not about to revolutionize the genre but her talent and sweet voice will be more than enough for jazz fans.
