Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Canadian band First of June have a distinct, piano-based sound. Vocalist Vanessa Laurin has a sensitive yet forceful style and some intriguing lyrics.

This music is close to early Tori Amos and has the same beauty and suspense to it. On “Nowhere” they borrow a few lines from Edgar Allan Poe’s poem Annabel Lee and they make good use of them.

On the whole this is a very even album that many people should buy.
