Album Name: Kids of Big Stars
Artist: Tryst
Year/Label: 2003 / MH Records
Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds
From the first few notes, I was hooked. Yes, it’s a man singing, but there are women in the band who sing and play instruments also. But Tim Cohan has one of those voices you just melt into. Yes, it’s nice. The other band members are Sam McIlvain, Elisa Chiusano, Ellen Highstone.
I must mention “Telephone Kisses” since that is the one song in which the lead vocal is female. Ellen Highstone takes the stage here. Her voice is soft, sweet and pleasing. Reminds me a little of Belle & Sebastian (Isobel Campbell)
This is good pop music …lovely pop that makes you feel happy. It’s happy music…go on, get happy!
