I’m a sucker for the blues, especially when a woman is singing ’em to me. ‘Cover Up Show’, 9bobnote’s newest release is full of down home, foot tapping, body swaying, country blues. What a beautiful creation! The vocals are laid back and delivered with a full plate of sass.

‘Cover Up Show’ is variety at it’s best; creativity abounds, jumping out from song to song. If I had to summarize the CD in one word it would be ‘lively’. Every song is full of energy, just bursting through. Any song on this CD would make a lovely addition to some southern fried motion picture.

On a side note, the piano work throughout is phenomenal as a building block for the songs. Alicia Keyes – watch out! Fiona Apple – Beware! Men should sit down and learn what a self-satisfied woman sounds like; 9bobnote could teach lessons.

This may sound over the top, but I could play this CD in the car, at home while doing laundry, taking a shower, working out, breaking up with my boyfriend etc. Anything and everything they were saying, PLUS the way they say it so well makes this CD a must for any blues lover’s collection.
