Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Jen plays the piano and Jeff Gordon plays all the other instruments on this recording. It’s short at only seven songs, and it’s raw, but it shows that both Jen and Jeff are talented musicians.

The CD opens with “These are the Days” a bluesy Bonnie Raitt type track. “Carry Me” reminds me of an old 70s song. It’s catchy but at the same time being a bit unconventional. The tune doesn’t go exactly where you expect, but it’s very nice.

“Shine On” has nice “Charlie Brown theme” sort of staccato piano line. It’s simple, but interesting.

“In Between” has some great horn action as well as a funky tune and cool lyrics.

“Last Night” is a powerful a cappella piece that shows her voice as well as her songwriting talent. A nice ending to a great recording.
