Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

The Gunga Din have a fine singer in the husky-voiced Siobahn Duffy. Their drone driven rock has a Doorsy flavour to it, because of Maria Zastrow’s organ playing which owes something to Ray Manzarek. The band also recall labelmates Elysian Fields but have a tendency to rock out more.

They write strong songs that have a dark mood about them. This is a record to be enjoyed after midnight in a dimly lit bar. I’ll be that’s how the band come across best live too.
