Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

Wendy Spiro has released a gorgeous Celtic record, in the vein of Loreena McKennit. It’s not quite as fairy like, but just as lovely.

Perhaps it’s because this is the season we are approaching, but this music says winter to me. It makes me think of Scottish or Irish countryside, big warm sweaters and hot chocolate (or a pint). Very homey and comfortable.

I am afraid I don’t know anything about Ms. Spiro personally since she has no website or MySpace (at least Google doesn’t find it) and the page on CDBaby only talks about the album. I do hope this doesn’t mean she isn’t serious about her musical career because she’s quite talented. She has a lovely voice and obviously an ear for this style of music.

This is a nice addition to your Celtic atmospheric CD collection. I’m glad it’s in mine.
