Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

“Don’t Let Me Run” is your basic rock song, ala Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt, Melissa Etheridge. I wouldn’t compare her voice to any of those women, but the sound is similar.

The title track “It’s Who I Am”, is a “me-power” anthem that has a fun harmonica solo and a good beat.

“Busker” – reminds me of George Michael’s song “Faith”…just the drum beat in the beginning. I like the distorted vocals and “Roselan” almost has an 80s punk thing going on.

“When The Damage Is Done” has a nice piano intro. If you’ve read my reviews, you know I’m a sucker for piano, so this is my favorite track. Her voice shines more in this song than in others as well.

“Eternally” is a nice way to end the record, peaceful and pretty.

If you like the artists above (not including George Michael, that is) give Mara a listen.
