Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

I was expecting a straight up folk or pop record. I was not expecting the world feel that this record has. “Decisiones” is a lovely Spanish/Mexican tinged song.

Herscovitch’s voice is great. It’s crystal clear and soothing. It stands out on “Sylvia’s Eyes”. Lovely.

There are some nice story songs here, and one of my favorite things is story songs.

“The Day the Jury Got Away” has a great melody, immediately charming and the lyrics…well…funny, smart, clever, etc. Great song.

Same goes for “Blah, Blah, Blah” short and sweet but funny.

“Mr. Officer” is a silly song about getting a speeding ticket (and more). Reminds me of Christine Lavin the queen of funny folk songs.

This is an interesting and unique folk-pop album that I think will please many a music fan.
