Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Italy’s Musetta consists of Matteo Curcio and Marinella Mastrosimone. They set out to make filmic music and succeed very well. The booklet has some noir imagery and that’s apparently an influence son the music as well.

Opener Another Glimpse of Sun sounds like the theme for a spy film, all windswept strings and evocative vocals.

We Will Fade Out is just lovely and dreamy and Mastrosimone’s vocals coo endearingly.

The Days of Roses is jazzy and loose, the vocals accompanied by soft beats.

They work in two songs from films Underneath the Mango Tree from ‘Doctor No’ and the theme from ‘Rosemary’s Baby’.

Both work well and this is a fine album.
