Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

First of all I have to say Pop Lovers Anonymous is a great band name and they have a pretty cool sound. Pop music for sure, but not too bubble gummy.

Lead singer Sally Chou has a solid, strong pop voice that matches the music well. She also plays guitar and wrote all the songs. Joining her in the band is and Grace Yang (vocals/bass) Jim Yang (guitar/vocals) and Rich Yang (drums/percussion).

The music is fun and party-like. The lyrics are well written and clever. I like lines like this:

“I never learned the lyrics
So all I can do is hum
I’m always listening to every luscious
Note and chord you strum… “

…From “Pretty Guitar Boy” which is sung from the perspective of a fan with a crush on the guy on stage. All she wants is for him to notice her. Who of us has not been there?

This is a fun pop recording and well done.

Stand out songs: “Pretty Guitar Boy” and “Making it Real” (love the bass line)
