Review by Digman

“Sleepy Little Sailor” is proof that not all record companies are stupid. This CD is an investment in the future…and the future for Suzie Ungerleider looks bright!

Musician, singer, songwriter, lyrical journalist and poet of sound…Ungerleider writes not words – but the melody of words – metaphors twisted into the rhythmic passion of sound…and she sounds beautiful! All of these tracks (with the exception of “I’ve Got Dreams To Remember,” Otis Redding) were either written or co-written by Ungerleider.

Listen to “Kings Road” (read the lyrics as you listen): ‘sucking on a cigarette/so johnny rotten cool/sing me a song that’s three chords long/inhale until we’re blue’. Or on her last track, “Ride On”…’you left her bleeding heart to rot/with her crown of thorns and forget-me-nots/when angels fall it looks like snow/their wings are torn from where the grow’.

This is writing from the brain!

These are well-crafted songs – stories from the heart, vocals from the soul! This CD should contain the warning: lyrics could be hazardous to your thought!
