Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

The first track sounds like it belongs in a Broadway play. Maybe it’s the horns. It’s very interesting. It reminds me a tad of Sting’s “Dream of the Blue Turtles” (which remains one of my favorite CDs of all time).

The rest of the CD takes on different genres with each song. You’ll hear blues, jazz, and folk along with your musical theatre and Lilli Lewis does them all with soul.

“Perfect Regret” has some gorgeous piano that really catches the ear. Track 9, “Gilead” is also beautiful and is a perfect match for the rain beating down outside my window.

The songwriting is complex and unique. Lewis has a great smooth jazzy voice and the musicianship is outstanding. It’s transcending. I feel like I’ve been transported. I am not sure to where, but I like it.
