Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

I’ve reviewed Alicia Dara in the past, a long time ago. I remember liking that record a lot.

Her new album offers a multi-faceted sound with some great songs.

Isabel Archer is about the protagonist in Henry James “Potrait of a Lady” and it has a soft country style which works well.

Bulletproof is a sensitive song, much aided by Ian Moore’s backing vocals.

The title song is and eighties-sounding wide screen moment, Dara’s vocals sound delightfully sweet.

She covers Bowie’s Heroes which is a hard feat, she wont replace the original in anyone’s heart, but her version has its own soul.

Alicia Dara’s new album is just great.

Amy’s Note: I also got this CD for review. I have not listened to the whole thing enough to write it up yet, but I will say that I am really enjoying it!
