Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

Emily’s deep, sultry voice is a perfect match for the gutsy, rock-bluesy feel of the music. She growls, whispers and shouts…all very well.

The songwriting is catchy without being trite at all. The guitar is strong and emotional; the rhythm is driving and powerful. These songs will stick with you.

My favorites are “Pretty Good One” and “Season to Spend”. The latter has a really cool melody and showcases Emily’s voice, as she is able to use her range.

“Trippy Falls” is indeed trippy. There is some augmentation on her voice that makes it almost spooky, then the guitars wail over a trip hop-y drum beat. Very cool. This is probably my favorite track here.

If you’re looking for a CD with some diversity that includes tinges of rock, pop, trip-hop, and folk then Emily Zuzik is your ticket.

P.S. I’ve seen probably 6 photos of Emily and she looks like a different person in every one. She should be a spy!
