Review by Sarah Bernardi

Being a devoted fan to the Goth/Doom Metal genre, I was thrilled to check out Left Hand Solution. Hailing from Sweden, LHS have been producing dark, melodic music since the early nineties.

Their featured full-length, “Light Shines Black”, is an excellent introduction to their beautiful sound. The album opens with “Light Shines Black”, a hard track that rocks from the beginning. As the album progresses, tracks like “Lucic Dream Desire” and “Vision” prove that LHS also have a more Gothic, Ethereal side to their music as well. Each song is an epic on its own.

Vocalist Mariana Holmberg has a beautifully deep and compelling voice. Her voice along with the looming sounds create a world full of sorrow and darkness that pull you in further each time you hear it. Left Hand Solution have certainly made their mark through Europe, as well as parts of Canada, and now the USA. “Light Shines Black” is a great introduction to the world of Left Hand Solution.
