Hmmm, this is where I have to put aside my personal taste and just say that this is a very talented woman.

As you may know from previous reviews or if you read my submission info I do not care for blues as a genre in general. There are maybe a handful of blues songs I can listen to for any length of time. I don’t know what it is, I’ve tried to like it. Lord knows I’ve tried, but I just don’t get it.

But there’s something about Candye Kane that compels me to write about her and let others who DO appreciate blues to know about her if you don’t already.

She’s got a fantastic voice and a presence (yes, even on recording) that is very appealing. There’s a tad of rockabilly to her style as well which I do like.

So there you have it, it’s not my personal cup of tea, but damn, she’s good. If you do like blues you should check her out.
