Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Elaine Lachica’s debut album enthralls. She weaves meandering melodies and complex rhythms together. her voice is soothing and distinct.

“Be That Day” is as surreal as it’s beautiful. Lachica’s voice undulates against a restrained backing. The song manages to be both bluesy and ethereal.

“Varuna” starts with a sound that resembles falling rain and builds subtly from there. Lachica’s vocals are warm and inviting here. She also shows thats he can make near operatic turns with great ease.

The Cocteau Twins like “Garlands racing” has a heavenly feel.

“9” has plenty of good songs to offer fans of the dream-pop genre.
