Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

Rita Lynch has been around and her tough, Patti Smith-esque vocals are a delight to hear.

The punky sound of her latest album is raw and honest. “O God above” is like early PJ Harvey with its impassioned vocals and rock-solid drumming. “Feels like the end of the world” is sad but not too downbat. Lynch intones her words darkly as the guitar sways.

“I’ll never let you go” is as scarily obsessive as Dalbello’s “Gonna get close to You”. (Dalbello is a Canadian singer with the voice of a fury).

The intensity of “Jesus saves” is palpable. This album is poetic, word-drunk and intensely present.

I cherish it for its beauty and toughness.
